How To Make Vanilla Coffee Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 vanilla bean seeds scraped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine the sugar, water, vanilla bean seeds, and scraped vanilla bean halves in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and let the syrup cool. Pour into a jar and refrigerate until needed.

Why is it called coffee syrup when there’s no coffee in the ingredients? I live in New England where coffee syrup is in every grocery store ) e.g. Autocrat brand) and I was excited to make my own!

oh! I know the coffee syrup you’re referring to, Julie. My friend Lynne introduced me to it a while back. This is a vanilla syrup made for adding to coffee. Sorry for the confusion! (And now I want to figure out how to make a copycat Coffee Syrup!)
