Two Peas and Their Pod, the combination sounded unique enough that I couldn't resist trying it. Who knew that yogurt was such a great match for peanut butter? I don't know why I'm so surprised, but I am.
The yogurt makes the dip smooth and creamy and adds a slight tang that is balanced by a bit of honey. (I increased the peanut butter a good bit in our version of this recipe, because we are serious peanut butter lovers!) In case you can't tell, I really like this dip! My kids inhaled this the first time I made it and each time since as well.
COOK'S NOTE: Chunky and creamy peanut butters will both work well. Simply choose your favorite. I liked it best with the little pieces of peanuts in the chunky version. I'm including two different versions of this recipe, my personal favorite is 1/2 peanut butter and 1/2 yogurt, although I like both versions very much!
Peanut Butter and Honey Yogurt Dip
recipe inspired by Two Peas and Their Pod
Yield: 1 cup
1/2 cup peanut butter (decrease this to 1/4 cup for a more yogurt-like dip)
1/2 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons honey, adjust to taste
Stir the peanut butter and yogurt together until creamy. Add the honey slowly and adjust the sweetness to taste. Serve with apple slices or crackers. This will keep well in the refrigerator for several days. Enjoy!
