Salty cashews, sweet dried cranberries and dark bittersweet chocolate are combined to create my all-time favorite snack combination. I make a lot of different snack mixes, but I always come back to this one.
Snack mixes made at home taste so much better and are typically much fresher than the packaged combinations at the store.
Do you make your own snack mixes? I am always looking for new combinations to try, so I want to know what your favorites are!

I make trail mix like this frequently – although sometimes I like to add almonds and use those mini m & m's instead of the chocolate chips.

They have so many trail mixes its crazy
But I'm like you…I like it simple
Cranberries and cashews, dark bittersweet chocolate is what I like also.
I don't like most other dried fruits
And banana chips are Ewwwwww…lol
I do sometimes add the little yogurt pieces to mine.

It doesn't matter what the combination is, let's face it, the m&m's always get picked out first! I mean when its between that and raisins, really, what are you going to choose? haha
Seriously though, I like almonds, cashews, peanuts, dried cranberries or cherries, maybe even some goji berries and definitely dark chocolate! Oh and pumpkin seeds!
nancy at good food matters says

I love trail mix too…but I have a hard time with portion control! So I usually mix in some cereal. My favorite is cheerios. I also like adding freeze-dried fruit for a lower-cal crunch.
