Banana Grape Spinach Smoothie with Chia Seeds

Banana Grape Spinach Smoothie with Chia Seeds recipe by Barefeet In The Kitchen

Grapes, bananas and orange juice are always a great combination in a smoothie. The red grapes are a good variation and the chia seeds work well in this smoothie as well. My boys really enjoyed these and I'll be making them with chia seeds again.

Banana Grape Spinach Smoothie with Chia Seeds
(printable recipe)

1 cup orange juice
1 cup ice
2 generous handfuls spinach
2 large bananas, frozen
2 cups red grapes, frozen
1 1/2 teaspoons chia seeds
1-2 tablespoons honey, if desired - taste the smoothie first, I did not add any sweeteners to mine

Layer ingredients into the blender as listed. Puree until smooth. Enjoy!

  2. I don't usually put chia seeds in my smoothie. I have before, but usually I make a pudding from the seeds.

  5. Chia seeds are so good for the health. I have seen that Dr.OZ shows. Saw your comment in my blog, you should try using mint leaves in cooking and once you have used it, I can assure that you will love to add in everything - soup, marinades, smoothies, rice or salads :-)

  8. Gwen, I emailed you. Your comment totally cracked me up yesterday.

Mary, I buy chia seeds at our local produce/health food store. I think you can buy them in bulk anywhere Bob's Red Mill products are sold.
